Dave Slotte

Dave Slotte-Owner-Performance Motor Works-Rocklin-CAHi, and thank you for taking your time to let me introduce you to my company.
Working with engines has been in my blood since I was 10 years old. Back then, it was my first motorcycle, a Yamaha Mini Enduro. In high school, I pumped gas at a local Shell station when full service was the only service available. Some of us can still remember those days.

And it was really by accident, that I chose to work on cars as a career. I got into automobile repair after my starter died on my 68 Chevy truck. Eager to learn how to do it myself, I enrolled in De Anza College in an auto electrical class and it hasn’t stopped. Since then, I have achieved ASE’s Certified Master Mechanic.

I spent the majority of my 15 year career working for large BMW dealers. Often disappointed in having to compromise my commitment to providing customers with honest and high quality repairs only to be directed by others for sake of their bottom-line. I would like to believe the big dealers number one priority is their customers. Sadly, this is not always the case. I personally witnessed this many times, often risking continued employment.

I started Performance Motor Works in 1998, to provide exceptional service. As a company we are committed to our customers, which is our Number One Priority. We offer quality customer service, repairs and parts at a fair price.

We offer the best of everything! We have invested in the best diagnostics equipment and provide a highly professional work environment to our group of highly trained and experienced technicians. We do this to provide you with a level of service and quality not found anywhere.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to our family. I am available to speak with you personally and I am never too busy to help you, our customer.

Mike Abelar

Mike Abelar partner Performance Motor Works Rocklin CAI launched my BMW adventure in the San Francisco bay area in 1979 with what is now known as Dinan Engineering and used that experience to move into the BMW dealership world for almost 30 years.

The first dealership I started with was H&E German Car, later known as Stanford BMW for 10 years as shop foreman. I then want to Allison BMW as shop foreman for 8 years and finished my mechanic tenure at Palo Alto BMW. I moved toward the management side of BMW in Southern California for almost 10 years starting in 1999 at Coast BMW as service director for BMW & Nissan. I then went to Santa Barbara BMW as service director for BMW, Audi & Porsche. I finished in Southern California at Santa Maria BMW-VW as service & parts director.

I moved to the Sacramento area and I got on at Roseville BMW for almost 2 years. At this point I’m partnered with Dave here at Performance Motor Works.
